Cincy gas supplier plotting Columbus expansion
A Cincinnati gas supplier is looking to expand its services by opening a distribution facility in Columbus within the next year.
Wright Brothers Inc., which began delivering specialty gases 18 months ago to about 10 Central Ohio businesses, including health-care, party supply, food and beverage companies, hired former Praxair Inc. executive and Columbus resident John Congini to lead its expansion effort.
Praxair (NYSE:PX), based in Danbury, Conn., also supplies specialty gases.
Wright Brothers supplies helium, nitrogen, propane, argon and other gases. It does not have a site secured for the facility or an estimate for how many it will employ, but said the facility would be used for stocking specialty gases as well as for sales and service technicians to manage local operations.
The privately held company did not disclose how much revenue it expects to generate through its expansion in Central Ohio, or its overall company revenue.
The company, which employs about 42 at its headquarters in Cincinnati, also serves Dayton and Cleveland, but does not have plans to open facilities in those cities.
